Patrol

The Patrol Division, which comprises the majority of sworn personnel, is the most visible component of the police department and provides 24-hour emergency response to our citizens' calls for service.

The Patrol Division’s operational goals listed below serve as a roadmap for all personnel ensuring we work together toward a common mission. The goals reflect many of the issues and priorities identified through community input, crime data analysis, and our desire to create and maintain strong community partnerships. Our operational goals help us provide the very best police service possible and will ensure the service we provide meets the needs of the community.

  1. Prevent crime and disorder
  2. Respond promptly to calls for service
  3. Develop safer neighborhoods through community partnerships and participation
  4. Enhance traffic safety
  5. Maintain the integrity, quality and effectiveness of policing services. Patrol members are the first responders to all calls for service from our citizens. In this role, officers are trained to provide a variety of services which include accident investigation, emergency response to crimes in progress, proactive patrols, and crime prevention.

The Patrol Division consists of four squads, each of which is headed by a Patrol Sergeant with the assistance of a Corporal.
