The updated General Plan that was approved by the voters in March 2012 recognizes the importance of resort property revitalization.  Policy 2.1.2.1 states, "The Town shall continue to encourage Special Use Permit property revitalization and improvement within their existing geographic boundaries as long as such improvement does not adversely affect the integrity and enjoyment of adjacent residential neighborhoods." 

The Mountain Shadows Resort, located at 5641 East Lincoln Drive, has been closed for nearly 8 years.  Recently, the town received an amended application to redevelop the property.  The property owner, Crown Development, submitted an amended Special Use Permit (SUP) application on May 15.  Below are links to all of the documents associated with this project including the narrative and conceptual plans.  This page will be updated as more information becomes available. 

There are four stages in an SUP review process.  They include development of a Statement of Direction by the Town Council to guide the Planning Commission; a citizen review meeting; Planning Commission review and public hearing; and Town Council review and public hearing.   All meetings are held at Town Hall and are open to the public.  The following is a list of scheduled meeting dates.  Please check this page or the events calendar on the home page for meeting times and agendas once they become available.
