Several changes to Alarm Monitoring billing went into effect January 1st, 2010.  This includes the first rate adjustment since April 2002.

Monthly Rates
Rates are now tiered, based on the number of zones (or entry points) programmed into an alarm system panel.

Primary with Radio/Digital Backup (1-24 zones)	$38	$45

A household with Primary monitoring via telephone and twenty-four (24) zones or less is billed $35 per month; households with more than twenty-four (24) zones are billed $40 per month. Subscribers opting for the Backup service are charged their relevant Primary rate plus an additional $10 monthly.

Guest Houses
Effective January 1st, guest houses and other structures with separate alarm panels and zone listings are billed separately from the main house. Separate billing for guest houses can be avoided by having a qualified alarm service company merge existing zone lists onto a single control panel.
